You’ll soon be starting your professional career – and with it a new chapter in your life. In order for you to become more familiar with the different occupational fields, we offer you work placements at the MAPAL Group to guide you in your career.

While you’re still at school, you can avail of this opportunity at one of our eight sites across Germany. After finishing school, you can then choose between an apprenticeship or a dual study programme. Because as a future-looking family busi-ness with strong regional roots, it’s important to us to train our junior staff ourselves.

Your training

Would you like to start a technical career at MAPAL or do you consider yourself strong in the commercial area? Depending on which occupational profile you choose, your training will last a total of 2 to 3.5 years.

What’s more, we’re very pleased that many female students are now also opting for a technical apprenticeship at MAPAL. We intentionally promote women in technical professions.

During your training, we’ll focus on a close link between ex-pertise and practical relevance right from the start: This is why you’ll not only learn the ropes in our training centres, but can also get involved in our specialist departments at an early stage and lead MAPAL on into the future.

Study at MAPAL

You want to study after your (specialist) A-levels? But you think that university and technical college are too far removed from reality? Then a dual study programme is just the right thing for you.

In cooperation with the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University, MAPAL offers the option of a dual study pro-gramme, in which you combine theoretical university studies with practical assignments within the company.

What does your study dual course look like?

Over six study semesters, you not only earn a Bachelor’s de-gree, but also gain important experience through active par-ticipation in the various company departments.You benefit from a monthly salary, a company laptop and affordable catering options in our canteens / cafeterias.What does a dual study programme look like? During your studies, you alternate between theoretical and practical phases, each lasting three months. The theory units take place on the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State Uni-versity campus. Of course, the degrees are recognised under higher education law, meaning they’re equivalent to the corresponding qualifications from universities and universities of applied sciences. The personal interaction is a huge advantage, because you work together with your fellow students in small groups. This way you learn under optimal conditions and can build a sustainable network with other students and professors.

During the practical phases, you spend time with us in the company and get to know different areas of MAPAL. You’ll work directly in the day-to-day business, be entrusted with projects, make contacts and may even have the opportuni-ty to complete a practical placement at one of our offices abroad.

With a good degree behind you, all doors are open to you. Because of course it’s in our own interest to offer our dual students a future-looking job in the MAPAL Group after they graduate.

The aim of the Industrial Production course is the practice-oriented training of qualified employees who want to work in the manufacturing sector. The focus is on the basics of mechanical engineering, operational organization and production as well as engineering and independent ways of action.

Bachelor of Science, study course Information Technology

The broad spectrum of content in the information technology course enables graduates to cope with all standard tasks in software development and information technology. The focus is on the development of information systems and the processing of large amounts of data, such as occurs in the context of Industry 4.0 and the term big data coined in this context.

Bachelor of Engineering, study course mechanical engineering

Mechanical engineers work on the development, design and manufacture of tools or machines and systems. You plan, design, calculate and test complex products and are also active in the manufacture and sale of these products. Basic engineering training is at the core of the dual mechanical engineering course.

Bachelor of Science, study course Business Information Systems

The business information systems course provides a comprehensive basic knowledge of business administration and applied computer science in equal parts. The main subject of business information systems is the use and development of information and communication systems to support operational and global processes.

Subject-specific higher education entrance qualification or advanced technical college entrance qualification with delta test (general confirmation of academic aptitude from DHBW)
Interest in technical and business contexts

The business administration and engineering course teaches engineering and business basics in equal measure. It thus offers a holistic view of the decision-making context. The curriculum is less based on strong specialization and aims to impart comprehensive technical, methodological and social skills.

Your school work experience/summer job

Getting to know professions: your school work experience at MAPAL

Before you decide on an apprenticeship or a course of study, find out what interests you and what you enjoy: for example, by getting some school work experience as part of career guidance. You can get an insight into the apprenticeships offered at all our sites across Germany. In this way, you’ll not only get to know the profession, but also MAPAL, you can exchange ideas with MAPAL employees and ask them about their daily work.

We offer various work experience options, usually lasting one week, such as BORS or BOGY. During your time with us, experienced employees will look after you and give you an understanding of the tasks and requirements of the job as well as possible future prospects at MAPAL.

Please be aware that we need your application about three months before the planned work experience period.

Gain practical experience and earn money at the same time: your summer job at MAPAL

Make double use of the summer holidays: At some sites, you can top up your pocket money with a summer job and find out more about everyday working life at the same time. You’ll support our skilled workers (mainly in Production and Logis-tics) in their daily tasks and make an important contribution to ensuring that the day-to-day business runs smoothly even during the holiday period.

You have to meet the following requirements to get a summer job:

You must be at least 16 years old;
You must be a school pupil or student;
You must be willing to do shift work;
You must be available to work for at least three weeks.
